Receiving financial aid is a partnership between you and WETCC. Understanding your rights and responsibilities helps ensure you receive the financial support you’re eligible for and remain in good standing throughout your educational journey.
Your Rights
As a financial aid recipient, you have the right to:
- Understand how your financial aid eligibility is determined.
- Receive clear information about your awards and eligibility requirements.
- Accept, decline, or request adjustments to your financial aid offer.
- Have your financial information kept confidential.
- Access your financial aid records and seek assistance from the Financial Aid Office.
- Request a review of your circumstances if your financial situation changes significantly.
- Receive financial aid counseling and support.
Your Responsibilities
As a financial aid recipient, you are responsible for:
- Completing financial aid applications and required forms accurately and on time.
- Providing truthful and complete information.
- Notifying WETCC of changes that may affect your financial aid eligibility.
- Maintaining Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
- Using financial aid funds for educational expenses.
- Reviewing and understanding all financial aid documents and requirements.
- Meeting application deadlines and responding promptly to requests for information.
